MarkMonitor Chief Marketing Officer Frederick Felman to Speak at AAFA ‘Knock It Off! Brands and the Counterfeiting Quandary’ Event

NEW YORK, November 3, 2008 –MarkMonitor®, the global leader in enterprise brand protection, announced that Frederick Felman, chief marketing officer of MarkMonitor, will be speaking at the American Apparel and Footwear Association’s (AAFA) ‘Knock It Off! Brands and Counterfeiting Quandary’ event. This will be the fourth annual conference presented by the AAFA’s Brand Protection Council on intellectual property and best practices. The conference will include industry and government leaders discussing approaches and strategies to stay ahead of counterfeiters on a variety of fronts.

Frederick Felman will present, “Brand in the Digital Age: How to Avoid Brand Erosion.” The Internet has opened up a new world of anonymity and new opportunities for counterfeiters, cybersquatters and fraudsters, also known as “brandjackers.” In this session, he will share insights on how technology can measure online threats against brands and identify proactive strategies that companies can practice for positive results.
