MarkMonitor Appoints New Chief Technology Officer
Paul Dagum to expand technical and executive leadership to protect brands
SAN FRANCISCO, February 11, 2009 – MarkMonitor®, the global leader in enterprise brand protection, today announced the appointment of industry veteran Paul Dagum to its executive team. As chief technology officer, Dagum will provide technical and scientific vision to MarkMonitor, bringing more than 20 years of experience in technical leadership and executive management.

Prior to joining MarkMonitor, Dagum served as chief scientist and strategy officer of Business.com, which was acquired by R.H. Donnelly. At Business.com, Dagum oversaw technology strategy, innovation, design and development. Before Business.com, Dagum was at Mohr Davidow Ventures where he evaluated high-impact business opportunities in Internet technology and medical devices. His previous experience includes co-founding and serving as chief science officer at Rapt, which was later acquired by Microsoft, as well as serving as a principal investigator at Stanford University on several National Science Foundation and National Institutes of Health grants. He has held several senior scientist positions and has authored more than 60 peer-reviewed publications in statistics, computer science and biotechnology journals. Dagum received a Ph.D. in theoretical computer science from the University of Toronto and an M.D. from Stanford University.
